2024 Design Show
The 2024 Design Show celebrates the work of graduating students in the SUNY New Paltz Department of Design, featuring final projects and portfolios from the MA in Digital Design & Fabrication and the BFA Graphic Design programs.
As part of a four-person team, I helped create the overall branding for the show. This branding was used not only during the live show but also for promotion and will serve as inspiration for future displays. It included promotional posters, social media posts, stickers, goodie bags, a trailer video, and a printed display.
While all team members contributed to all deliverables, my role was heavily focused on the show’s web design and its development.

Visual Identity
The brand's visual identity embraces anti-design and grunge aesthetics, incorporating collages and grungy textures. This edgy approach reflects the new Design Department's departure from traditional art conventions, while inside jokes foster a shared identity. Through unconventional typography, rebellious colors, and an avant-garde style, the brand positions the Department as a bold, boundary-pushing force in design thinking.

Defining a Project Scope
Creating a comprehensive project scope for the 2024 Design Show was a crucial first step in our process. This document served as our roadmap, clearly outlining our objectives, target audience, deliverables, and team responsibilities. By establishing this scope, we ensured that all team members had a shared understanding of the project's goals and constraints.
Working as a Team
As a team of busy college seniors, we maximized our collaboration throughout the entire design process. From initial brainstorming to the final brand identity, we efficiently combined in-person meetings with digital communication, utilizing group chats and shared platforms like Miro, Google Drive, and Adobe Cloud to stay connected and productive despite our packed schedules.
Creating the Exhibition Space
Designed in Visual Studio Code using HTML/CSS
This ambitious project was an incredible endeavor, made possible by the exceptional team I had the privilege to work with. The initial stages were challenging, particularly in selecting a theme and presenting our ideas to fellow students for feedback. However, the end result exceeded our expectations, with students, family, and friends enthusiastically engaging with all our deliverables.
This experience has been invaluable in developing my project management and leadership skills. It stands out as one of the most rewarding projects I've undertaken in my academic career. I feel a deep sense of pride not only in my own contributions but also in representing our talented team and the entire cohort of graduating designers through this event.
